The Science Behind Sea Moss

THE SCIENCE BEHIND SEA MOSS

When it comes to sea moss, people are usually referring to Irish Sea Moss, but really, there are different kinds. There is the well-known Irish Sea moss, and there are other types, such as Red Sea Moss or Purple Sea Moss. There are two main types with botanical names Chondrus Crispus and gracilaria chilensis. The red sea moss, as opposed to the golden sea moss is a very high-quality deep ocean richer sea moss.

You get from sea moss in general, minerals such as calcium, it is very high in calcium; you also get other minerals such as phosphates, iodine, a very important mineral and magnesium, copper, and zinc. There are 102 minerals in the human body, and you get 92 of them just from sea moss alone. Some interesting benefits include a healthier endocrine system, which includes all our glands, because it contains minerals such as iodine, bromide, phosphates, and carbonates.

Sea Moss can be stored for a long time

It can be given to children

You can mix it with hemp milk

It is great for the skin and for skin problems by applying it directly to the skin as it has great collagen properties that are all natural and can aid in healthier skin

Sea Moss itself is one of the many sea vegetables!

While Sea Moss is not a cure-all for everything, it should be used in conjunction with a holistic approach to maintaining good health and well-being. So things like diet , exercise the foods you eat and when you eat it are all important in a healthy mind and body. Our range of Sea moss products are all natural and organic. How To Prepare Sea Moss

  1. Soak the Sea Moss in plenty of water for about 6 to 24 hours then rinse and drain it about three to four times. I would suggest use a half of a lime during this process it just makes everything come out smelling better as the really strong red sea moss can tend to have a real ocean smell! When this is complete you should have about 2 to 2 and a half cups of sea moss
  2.  Put it in a pot with 3 and a half cups of boiling water and simmer it on a medium heat for about 10 minutes with the lid cover off. Stir the contents during this process occasionally
  3. Let the contents then cool then pour all the contents into a blender and blend into a thickish smooth gel.
  4.  Pour it into a glass container or a plastic container. Make sure the container is BPA free!!!
  5. Note I usually put it into ice cube trays or containers and pop it into the freezer because then it becomes very easy to get out and allows me to use what i require easy time I want to. It also extends the life of the sea moss up to three months as opposed to two to three weeks in the fridge.
  6. Realistically you should get about 28 spoons or more of the gel once it is set!
  7. You can then use it to make smoothies porridges puddings ice cream stews soups teas etc or just put a couple of cubes in water and drink it. Some people like it off the spoon and there is evidence it is best taken that way although it may not be to everyone's liking. Some people like to mask the taste.!!!
